Kate, exterior

It all started with Elin Hilderbrand novels.  My love of Nantucket.  I've never been but I gaze at pictures and through her words I can envision the cobblestone streets, cute restaurants, the beach and sand dunes, small streets with rose bushes everywhere.  Renting a beach house, with an outdoor shower, sand being trailed inside by the kids after playing on the beach all day, bbq's with fresh corn and seafood and copious amounts of wine.  Hearing the surf as we go to sleep. Not to mention roaming the streets to look at the homes, the architecture, is a dream of mine. This home in Architectural Digest is not the version of Nantucket that I had in mind but it blows me away with it's beauty and simplicity.  It could be anywhere in the world and I would love it but the fact that it's in Nantucket makes this an ideal home for me.  You can take a look at the whole tour here.
